Install error - Linux
« on: January 21, 2009, 03:57:31 PM »
Hi all,

I am having problems installing Fortran 95.  I am entering the commend "sudo ./install".  The install script logs the following error:
error: open of ./packages/absoft_fortran95-9.0-ep.ppc64.rpm failed: No such file or directory

This is the output from uname -a
Linux catalina-blade5 2.6.18-prep #1 SMP Wed Jul 9 11:31:43 PDT 2008 ppc64 ppc64 ppc64 GNU/Linux

and uname -r
2.6.18-prep

and cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.1 (Tikanga)

The rpm file is located locally at ./packages/absoft_fortran95-9.0-ep.ppc64.rpm.

Thanks,
Cole

We don't have this Linux distribution to test it on. However, try a non root install which will install from tar archives rather than an rpm package into your home directory. You can then move the directory tree to /opt.

have you tried locating the rpm, getting the exact path and editing it on the install file so it looks for the file on the right path?
