The f77 manual and user guide for 10.1.1 (OS X) both state that -N3 and -N51 are valid options. But passing them to f77 results in the message, "WARNING: -N3 is obsolete and can't be translated, ignored" (same for -N51). Am I doing something wrong, or is there a documentation error, or is there a compiler bug?

Follow up and the real reason I did previous post:

Is there a way to get an OS X 10.5.2 Intel Leopard system w/ Absoft 10.1.1 to read unformatted binary data written on big-endian machines?

How about doing a standard binary read, then shuffle the bytes for bigendian?

This is cross platform (Windows, Mac PPC, Mac Intel) and historical code. It would be nice if the code did not need to be changed and the compiler could handle this from the command line. And by "nice" I mean "necessary". We'll have to go with the Intel compilers or GNU if Absoft cannot support this.
