FFTW3.3.3 with Absoft 13.0.1 on Mac OSX 10.8.2
« on: April 09, 2013, 12:47:48 PM »
I just installed FFTW3.3.3 using the standard procedure (described here <http://absoft.absoft.com/newforums/index.php?topic=796.0>), ran all the checks (which were all ok), and now I'm trying to compile a simple test program:

program tester

use, intrinsic :: iso_c_binding
include 'fftw3.f03'   ! this is needed according to the instructions on the fftw.org site and the fftw manual

write (*,*) 'Hello'

end program tester

In the project options I set the include path pointing to the fftw3.f03 file.  When I hit compile, the f95 program starts and spawns af90fe64, which
then proceeds to not do anything at all for as long as I let it...  Even hitting the STOP button will not kill that program, I have to manually go in and do a Force Quit.  So I have been unable to get anything compiled that uses fftw.  I don't know whether the issue is with fftw or with the compiler; any suggestions would be greatly welcomed, as I have already spent half a day trying to get this to work...

Regards,
Marc.

We are looking into this. It is a problem with the new F2003 interfaces that have been layered on top of FFTW. Since it successfully builds and tests correctly, we would recommend using the package without the F2003 interfaces. It still has all of the functionality of all previous versions.

ok, thanks for getting back to me so quickly on this.

So, how would I go about using FFTW without the 2003 interface?  I do not see any compiler or configure option that would allow me to do this ...

Marc.
