Fx3: Hovering and Watch fail for variables defined in modules
« on: January 25, 2017, 01:40:08 PM »
Using the Fx3 debugger, the values of variables defined in modules referenced by USE are shown as having the value 0 when I "hover" over them, or attempt to show them with the WATCH tab.
In order to see them, i have to insert WRITE(*,*)  commands which subtracts from the joy of using a source code debugger.
Values for locally defined variables display correctly.

What version of the Absoft compiler are you using?

Are you debugging a 32 or 64 bit program?

Absoft Fortran 17.0.0 and IDE 2.2.2.
64 bit code.

I think your problem can be  fixed  by installing the  recently announced service pack  for Absoft Pro Fortran 2017. You can download the service pack from this page on the Absoft web site:

http://www.absoft.com/announcements/pro-fortran-2017-service-pack-1/

Be sure to rebuild your program after installing the service pack before trying to debug it again.

If this does not fix the problem, you should contact Absoft Support directly with a small example that reproduces the problem.
