Utility Functions
« on: June 05, 2008, 12:09:24 PM »
In MS Fortran there were non-standard routines to do things like see if there is a keystroke in the buffer. I know that there are utility routines in the Unix library to do similar things, but many of them apparently don't work with Windows (it is hard to tell which ones though). Is my only recourse to make Windows API calls?

You are correct.  Using the Windows API is the correct way to do what you are trying to do.

Chris: You will find that Absoft have helpfully coded the interfaces for many Windows API calls in: windows.inc
