f90fe fail
« on: December 16, 2010, 04:45:22 AM »
Absoft v11.05
Under windows XP
Working on one module of  a large F77 project  (more then 50 modules), executing the build command, the system stop the execution of  "f90fe.exe" signaling an error and suggesting to send the error message. After that , the building window print "f90fe failed" and continue with the remainig modules. At the end, print "ERROR:file not found" followed by the name of the module where the f90fe fail occurred.
* The module where the f90fe fail occurs is NOT the module on which I am working. on. Actually it was linked succeffully many times before.
* Moving the entire project, as is, on a PC under Windows 7 the problem does NOT occur.

Is it a known problem?

Thank a lot to everyone may help.

Attached there is the file generated by the system

Have you set the path to tell the compiler where to look for module files? The -p option.

yes

The Absoft tool looks to the local directory, however I set the directory as an additional path and the problem is still there.

The symptoms of the error suggest one cause to consider and eliminate: insufficient space in the TEMP directory.

Dvitale, how about cleaning the contents of every temporary directory? These are all the folders called TEMP and TMP on your disk drives, including the ones in sub-folders of "Documents and Settings"

I indeed cleaned up all temporary file and folders but it did not worked out.
The action that worked up until now (1 month and 1/2) was to move the full project folder from one PC to another PC with Absoft installed. Work  on the second PC for some time then switch back to the previous PC and the problem seems to be gone.
Up until now.
The problem is back again and no tmp files cleanig does help.  Nor does the PC switching, so I am stacked!.
Does anybody have a sugggestion?

Dvitale, earlier you wrote "signaling an error".

What is the error message on your screen?

Better, please take a picture of your screen: press the PrintScreen key. Then paste it into a Word document or image file. Attach it to your post to this Forum.

Dvitale, how about isolating the problem by compiling DRUG_FIT_Export.f with no compile options (we expect it to report errors, but not to crash).
Then add one compile option, and compile again.
And so on, until the Absoft compiler crashes. Then you will have isolated the problem.

Changing file options does not gave any clue.

If I remove the file from the project, then I create a new file putting all the lines of the removed file and then add the new file back in the project everithing works.

Does it make any sense?

Do you still have the original file? If so, send it to support@absoft.com and we'll take a look at it. Specify the compiler version you are using.

Unfortunately not. I overwrite it.

As soon as it happens again I will do.

Thank
