MINOR IRRITATION TRYING TO GET DATA FILES TO OPEN UP WITH ABSOFT EDITOR IN WINDOWS 7

FILE ASSOCIATIONS – ABSOFT EDITOR[/u]

I have recently upgraded my Windows XP PC which runs Absoft to a Windows 7 operating system and have reinstalled the Absoft workbench.

In Explorer when you click on a Fortran source file, these open up immediately in the Absoft editor.   Hitherto, the output data files produced by the system (with suffixes like .SHD or .IMP) would also open up in the Absoft editor.    However, despite assigning both .SHD and .IMP to a file association of the Absoft editor I encounter the message “The Parameter is incorrect”.

I am therefore writing to enquire if anyone has encountered this feature and knows the solution please?  I can open these type of data files up in WORDPAD or NOTEPAD so the issue is not urgent, I just prefer to view the data files using the Absoft editor.

Thank you

Mark, what happens when you drag a .SHD or .IMP file onto an Absoft shortcut icon? Also a .TXT file?
